Governor Greg Abbott named Marsha Moberley chair of the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles on September 3, 2024.
Moberley previously served as chief probation officer for the 100th Judicial District Community Supervision and Corrections Department in the Texas Panhandle. She had also served on the parole board before becoming chair.
The board votes on parole and mandatory-supervision cases, sets release conditions and makes clemency recommendations to the governor. The governor appoints the board’s members and designates its presiding officer, subject to the requirements of Texas law.

Accountability.
