Find Someone in the Webb County Jail

Webb County publishes an online Jail and Bond Record Search (hosted by Tyler Technologies). It is the fastest way to confirm that someone is in custody and to find their booking number, charges, and bond.

How to search

Open the search, choose Jail Records or Jail Bond Records, and enter the person’s name. A very recent booking can take a few hours to appear — if you cannot find someone, call the Sheriff’s Office at 956-523-4500. Register with the Texas VINE system for a call or email alert when custody status changes.

A name and date of birth are all you need to find a record. You should not have to enter a Social Security number or other sensitive personal information to look someone up.

Charges and court dates

Charges and bond appear in the record search. For court dates and case documents, use the county’s Court Record Search, or contact the Webb County District Clerk (felony cases) or the County Clerk (misdemeanor cases). An arrest is not a conviction.

Visitation Information

You must be on the incarcerated person’s approved visitation list. A person becomes eligible for visits within 72 hours of being booked in, unless they have not been medically cleared.

Visitor rules (from the Sheriff’s Office visitation sheet)

• Bring a valid government-issued photo ID, and be on the visitation list.
• You cannot visit if you have been in the Webb County Jail within the last 6 months.
• No one under 17 is allowed in the building unless with an adult. Two children with one adult per visit, and the adult must be on the list. No children under age 5.
• No personal items — only your keys. No cameras, cell phones, pagers, or video cameras; no weapons; no cigarettes, lighters, or matches; no food or drinks.
• Dress code: no shorts, hats, or sunglasses; no sleeveless shirts or dresses; no spandex or form-fitting clothing; skirts must be at knee level; no low-cut, backless, or see-through tops.

The Sheriff’s Office does not publish current visitation days and hours online, and the schedule can change without notice. Call 956-523-4500 for the current schedule and to get on the visitor list. Clergy and attorneys may visit at any time.

Commissary and Money Deposits

The Webb County Sheriff’s Office does not publish an online commissary-deposit method. Money and cash orders are not accepted through the mail.

To put money on an incarcerated person’s account, call the jail at 956-523-4500 and ask for the current commissary provider and how to deposit. Have the person’s full name and booking number ready.

If the jail directs you to an online or kiosk provider, use that provider’s own website or app. Fees are set by the provider and can change — check the amount before you pay. The Sheriff’s Office will never call to demand payment by phone, card, or gift card.

Telephone Calls and Communication

Incarcerated people at the Webb County Jail place outgoing calls; they cannot receive incoming calls. Families generally either accept collect calls or set up a prepaid account with Securus Technologies.

The county website does not publish the inmate telephone contract, so confirm the current provider and how to open an account by calling the jail at 956-523-4500.
