Harrison County Jail Information

Harrison County, with its county seat in Marshall, runs two jail facilities under the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office. The Main Jail, beside the county courthouse downtown, is where everyone is booked in and processed, and it holds both men and women. The Travis Street Jail Annex, opened in 2011, is an overflow facility that holds men only. Together they can hold up to about 350 people.

Find Someone in the Harrison County Jail

Harrison County publishes an online inmate search through its court and jail records portal. It is the quickest way to check whether someone is being held, their charges, and their bond.

How to search

Search by last name and first name. You can also use VINELink — choose Texas and search by name — and register for a free alert if their custody status changes. New bookings can take a few hours to appear online. If someone does not show up, call the Main Jail at (903) 923-4003.

A name and date of birth are all you need to look someone up. You should not have to enter a Social Security number or other sensitive personal information.

What you may need

  • The person’s full legal name (try spelling variations and any former or maiden name).
  • Their date of birth.
  • Their City Tele Coin PIN — you need it to send mail (see Section 6). Ask the person or the jail if you do not have it.

Charges, bond, and court dates

Court records for Harrison County are in the same court and jail records portal. For bond questions, call Bonds & Fines at (903) 923-4004. The county posts its Bail Bond Board page and a list of approved licensed bonding companies. An arrest is not a conviction.

Section 3

Visitation Information

The Sheriff’s Office lists City Tele Coin as the provider for video visitation, funded through a prepaid City Tele Coin account. The county does not post visiting days and hours online. Call the Main Jail at (903) 923-4003 (or the Annex at (903) 923-4008 if your loved one is housed there) to confirm the current schedule and how to book.

Before you visit

  • Confirm which facility the person is in — the Main Jail on South Franklin Street or the Travis Street Annex.
  • Bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
  • Dress conservatively. The jail can turn away a visitor for inappropriate dress.
  • Leave phones and bags in your vehicle unless the jail tells you otherwise.

Video visits

Set up an account with City Tele Coin to schedule and pay for video visits. Visits are recorded and monitored.

Section 4

Commissary and Money Deposits

Money for commissary (snacks, hygiene items, writing supplies) goes into the person’s jail account. The Sheriff’s Office lists Jail ATM for adding money to an inmate’s commissary account or buying care packages. The jail’s commissary provider is Commissary Express.

Deposit methods

  • Online through Jail ATM.
  • Money orders are the one kind of physical mail people in the jail still receive. Call the jail at (903) 923-4003 for current money-order instructions before sending one. Never mail cash.

What you must provide

The person’s full name and identifying information as requested by Jail ATM.

Deposit fees and any spending limits are set by the jail and its providers and can change. The Sheriff’s Office will never call to demand payment by phone, card, or gift card — treat any such demand as a scam.

Section 5

Telephone Calls and Communication

Phone calls from the Harrison County Jail go through City Tele Coin, the same company that handles video visits and mail. People in the jail make outgoing calls; to receive them, set up a City Tele Coin account and add money for prepaid calls.

Calls are recorded and monitored, except properly arranged calls with an attorney. Rates and fees are set by the provider and can change — check current pricing before adding a large balance.

Section 6

Mailing Instructions

Harrison County uses digital mail. Personal letters do not go to the jail in Marshall. They go to City Tele Coin’s mailroom in Louisiana, where staff scan them and upload a copy to the person’s account within 24 hours. People in the jail read their mail on kiosks or tablets and do not receive the paper originals.

Mailing address

[Full name of incarcerated person]
CTC Pin [number]
Harrison County Jail
4506 Marlena St, Unit 7
Bossier City, LA 71111

Put your own full name and return address in the top-left corner. Mail that is improperly addressed, lacks correct postage, or is sent to someone the mailroom cannot verify will be returned to you. The Sheriff’s Office posts a sample envelope on its website.

Legal mail and money orders

Privileged legal mail and money orders are the only items still delivered as physical mail. Legal mail must come from an official law office. Call the jail at (903) 923-4003 to confirm where legal mail and money orders should be sent.
