Find Someone in the Midland County Jail

The Sheriff’s Office posts a public Current Detainees list. It is the fastest way to confirm that someone is in custody in Midland County.

How to search

The detainee list shows people currently in the Midland County jail. A very recent booking can take a few hours to appear. Register with the Texas VINE system for a call or email alert when custody status changes.

A name and date of birth are all you need to find a record. You should not have to enter a Social Security number or other sensitive personal information to look someone up.

What you may need

• The person’s full legal name (try spelling variations and any former or maiden name).
• Their date of birth, to tell people apart when names are similar.
• Their Inmate ID number. You must put it on all mail and use it for deposits.

Confirm the identity

Before you send money or mail, match the full name and date of birth on the record to the person you are looking for. Do not rely on the name alone.

Booking information and charges

For charges, bond amounts, and court dates, use Midland County court records or call the Central Detention Facility at (432) 688-4745. An arrest is not a conviction.

Visitation Information

All visits at the Midland County Jail are video visits — there are no in-person visits. Most visits are done remotely from home, so you need a computer or device with a webcam and an internet connection.

Get on the visitor list

You must be on the inmate’s approved visitor list. Complete a visitation application — available at the jail or on the Sheriff’s Office website — and submit it to the jail. Bring proper identification (the burden of proof is on the visitor) and dress appropriately.

Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Limits

• Up to 2 visitors per visiting day, with a minimum of 20 minutes per visitor.
• Up to 4 total visits per week per inmate.
• Children under 17 may visit only during the first full visitation week of the month (first Saturday–Tuesday) — one child at a time, with a parent or guardian present at all times.

Commissary and Money Deposits

Money placed on an inmate’s trust account — used for commissary, phone calls, and other authorized expenses — is handled through TouchPay.

Money orders and cashier’s checks are no longer accepted.

Deposit fees

• $0–$20: $3.95  ·  $20.01–$100: $4.95  ·  $100.01–$200: $5.95
• Plus 7.5% of the amount on each credit or debit card transaction.

You will need the person’s name and Inmate ID. Fees are set by the provider and can change — check the current amount at checkout.

Telephone Calls and Communication

Inmate telephone service and video visits at the Midland County Jail are provided by Securus. Inmates cannot receive incoming calls, and some phone numbers are restricted.

Ways to pay for calls

• Collect calls to numbers where collect calling is not restricted.
• AdvancePay — a prepaid account. Call Securus at (800) 844-6591 for instructions. When the inmate calls, the receiving party accepts and the cost is deducted from the account balance.

Calls may be recorded and monitored. Trying to transfer a call or start a conference call disconnects it. Attorneys must contact Securus in advance to keep privileged calls unrecorded. Rates and fees are set by the provider and can change.

Mailing Instructions

Since July 18, 2019, the Sheriff’s Office no longer accepts personal mail at the jail. Personal mail goes to the Securus Digital Mail Center, is scanned, and is made available to the incarcerated person on the kiosks.
