Find Someone in the Galveston County Jail
The Sheriff’s Office runs a public online jail search through its P2C (Police to Citizen) system. It is the fastest way to confirm that someone is in custody in Galveston County.
How to search
Search by last name, first name, or booking number. Each record shows the charges, bond amount, court date, booking photo, and facility location. Very recent bookings can take a few hours to appear. You can also call the jail at (409) 766-2315, 24 hours a day.
A name and date of birth are all you need to find a record. You should not have to enter a Social Security number or other sensitive personal information to look someone up.
What you may need
- The person’s full legal name (try spelling variations and any former or maiden name).
- Their date of birth, to tell people apart when names are similar.
- Their booking / SO number. You will need it for mail and for money deposits.
Confirm the identity

Booking information and charges
The P2C search shows the charges, bond amount, and court date. For updated case status, use Galveston County court records. An arrest is not a conviction.
Visitation Information
Visits at the Galveston County Jail are scheduled in advance through GettingOut (GTL / ViaPath). Create an account, then book a visit for a day and time available to the person’s housing pod.
Days and hours
Visitation runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday in three blocks each day:
- 8:00–10:30 a.m.

Rules
- One visit per day, two visits per week, two visitors per visit. One child is allowed with an adult.

- No recording devices — a violation results in a permanent ban.
- Dress code: shorts and skirts no shorter than three inches above the middle of the knee; no open-toed footwear; no exposed midriff or shoulders.

Commissary and Money Deposits
Money for an inmate’s trust / commissary account is handled through GTL / ViaPath ConnectNetwork (also branded GettingOut). Galveston County TX Jail is Site ID 123.
