The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles denied parole to Yolanda Saldívar on March 27, 2025. The board set her next parole review for March 2030.
Saldívar is serving a life sentence for the 1995 murder of Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in Corpus Christi. This was her first parole review after 30 years of incarceration.
The parole board said its panel considered the available information, including any confidential interviews, before reaching its decision. A denial at one review does not change the underlying sentence; it establishes when the case may next be considered.
