Find Someone in the Collin County Jail

The county’s Judicial Online Search includes a public inmate search. It is the fastest way to confirm that someone is in custody in Collin County.

How to search

Search by name on the Inmate tab. You can filter by year of birth, sex, booking date, or SO Number. Very recent bookings can take a few hours to appear.

A name and date of birth are all you need to find a record. You should not have to enter a Social Security number or other sensitive personal information to look someone up.

What you may need

• The person’s full legal name (try spelling variations and any former or maiden name).
• Their year or date of birth, to tell people apart when names are similar.
• Their SO Number — Collin County’s identifier for the person. You will need it for mail and for money deposits.

Confirm the identity

Before you send money or mail, match the full name and date of birth on the record to the person you are looking for. Do not rely on the name alone.

Booking information and charges

The same Judicial Online Search lets you look up the person’s court cases — magistration, charges, and case status. For anything it does not show, call the Detention Facility at (972) 547-5200. An arrest is not a conviction.

Visitation Information

Visits at the Collin County Detention Facility are video visits, scheduled in advance through ICSolutions (also branded GettingOut). You can visit from a terminal at the jail or connect an offsite visit from your own computer. You must be on the inmate’s visitation list.

Length and sign-in

Each visit is 25 minutes (five extra minutes are allowed for walking to the cluster). Arrive and sign in 20 minutes before your scheduled time — late visitors are not admitted — and you cannot sign up more than one hour before. Days and hours vary by housing cluster and change without notice; see the official schedule or call (972) 547-5100.

Rules

• Bring a valid photo ID (current driver license or Texas DPS ID).
• Only one adult visitor per inmate per visitation day. Children visit on a space-available basis; children 16 and under only if they are a child of the inmate or of the visitor (unless legally married to the inmate).
• Dress code: no mini-skirts, sleeveless tops, or transparent/provocative clothing; shorts no shorter than five inches above the knee.
• No items may be brought in to a visit.

Offsite (at-home) video-visit fees are set by the provider and can change. Check the current rate when you schedule.

Commissary and Money Deposits

Deposits go into the person’s trust-fund account, which pays for commissary, telephone calls, and self-release (bail). Collin County uses Access Corrections Secure Deposits.

• Kiosk at the detention facility, or at 800+ locations nationwide.
• Cash at a store (Dollar General, Family Dollar, Kroger, CVS, 7-Eleven) after registering with Cash Pay Today.

Cash for commissary can also be deposited at the kiosk inside the facility. The detention facility does not accept cash, checks, or money orders by mail. Care packages are ordered through Access Securepak.

The person’s full name and SO Number.

Deposit fees are set by Access Corrections and are shown before you confirm payment. Check the current amount at checkout.

Telephone Calls and Communication

Inmates at the Collin County Detention Facility can make prepaid-account calls only, through ICSolutions. The jail does not accept incoming calls or take messages for inmates.

Set up a phone account

1. Create an account with ICSolutions and add money to a specific phone number.
2. The incarcerated person can also buy phone time from their commissary (trust-fund) account.

Tablets — video visits, messages, photos

Through ViaPath Technologies and ICSolutions, inmate tablets offer Visit Now on Demand, messages, and photo sharing. These are paid from the person’s trust-fund account or through the GettingOut app.

Call, message, and video rates are set by the providers and can change. Check the current pricing in your account before adding a large balance.

Mailing Instructions

Personal mail to the Collin County Detention Facility is processed off-site, scanned, and made available to the incarcerated person on a kiosk. Do not send personal mail to the jail’s street address.
