Find Someone in the McLennan County Jail
The Sheriff’s Office links a public inmate records search for the McLennan County Jail. It is the fastest way to confirm that someone is in custody.
How to search
Type the person’s name into the search box. Each record shows an ID number. The list is updated about once an hour, so a very recent booking can take a little while to appear.
A name and date of birth are all you need to find a record. You should not have to enter a Social Security number or other sensitive personal information to look someone up.

Booking information, charges, and bond
The search shows the charges and, where available, the bond amount. Bonding rules and forms are on the Sheriff’s Bonds page. For court dates, use McLennan County court records. An arrest is not a conviction.
Visitation Information
McLennan County offers on-site visits and remote video visits from home, both booked through GettingOut. You must be on the inmate’s visitation list and have a GettingOut account.
On-site visits — Sundays and Mondays only
- Sunday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (registration ends at 4:30 p.m.)
- Monday: 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (registration ends at 7:30 p.m.)
Each inmate is allowed two 30-minute visits per week. On-site visits are at the Shepherd Mullens Correctional Visitation Center; as of April 5, 2026 they move to the McLennan County Jail Bond Office Lobby.
Remote (from-home) video visits
Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on the GettingOut and GoVisit apps.
Visitation days, hours, and the on-site location change from time to time. Confirm the current schedule with the Sheriff’s Office at (254) 757-5000 before you go. Remote-visit fees are set by the provider.
Commissary and Money Deposits
Friends and family can order commissary items and care packages, and put money toward messaging and video visits.

Money for electronic messages and remote video visits goes into a GettingOut account (see Section 5).
You will need the person’s name and SO number. Fees are set by the providers and are shown before you confirm payment.
Telephone Calls and Communication
