SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Two former Texas Department of Criminal Justice employees at the Dominguez Unit have been arrested on allegations of sexual contact with inmates, according to TDCJ and Bexar County records.

Bexar County sheriff’s deputies took Miranda Barrientes-Sedilo, 25, into custody on an allegation of violating the civil rights of a person in custody. An investigation found that Barrientes-Sedilo and Bianca Lopez, 37, engaged in improper sexual activity with two separate inmates, TDCJ said. Both women previously worked as inventory specialists at the Dominguez State Jail.

Barrientes-Sedilo was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on a $25,000 bond and released a few hours later; the charge is a second-degree felony, court records show.

In the separate case against Lopez, an arrest affidavit alleges she performed sexual acts with an inmate multiple times over about a year, including an incident inside a commissary medical closet roughly two weeks before the warrant was issued. Lopez acknowledged the contact when questioned, according to the affidavit. She was booked on a $10,000 bond and remained in custody at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center as of publication, with no additional court dates yet reported.
