ANGLETON, Texas — A food service manager at the Clemens Unit in Brazoria County was arrested by TDCJ’s Office of Inspector General on a deadly conduct charge, according to an unconfirmed source.
Randy Dwayne Carlyle, 47, of Angleton, was booked into the Brazoria County Jail on Oct. 7 and released the same day on a $5,000 bond, according to that source. Jail records list Sept. 28 as the date of the alleged offense but do not describe what happened.
According to the unconfirmed source, Carlyle has worked for TDCJ since September 2007.
What the charge means
Deadly conduct can be a Class A misdemeanor when someone recklessly puts another person in danger of serious injury, or a third-degree felony when someone knowingly fires a gun toward a person, home or vehicle. The records do not say which level Carlyle faces.
The charge is an accusation, not a conviction. Carlyle is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Accountability.
