House Bill 2582, enacted by the 89th Texas Legislature, expanded the parole-related information available to eligible crime victims beginning September 1, 2025.
Existing law already entitled victims to information about an offender’s parole proceedings and release. The new law added access to specified information such as the county of release, parole conditions, subsequent offenses, warrants and revocations, subject to statutory limits and the victim-notification process.
The change is intended to help victims plan for safety and understand an offender’s supervision status. It does not make confidential parole records generally available to the public.
